The exam is based such that it has multiple choice tests which are administered by the US Military Entrance Processing Command. This type of service is offered to the American High school students. Their eligibility is wholly taken into consideration when they are pursuing their academic courses. The course is provided in schools by administrators under the government. Though the course is not provided in other schools there are other training centers which give courses on cracking this examination.

This aptitude test ASVAB has spread its sphere in many schools and many military academies. The whole organization that is established is maintained by the national department of Defence.

Though everything may sound a bit difficult regarding this examination, there is nothing to be afraid of. This examination is designed at its best and is a very good option for the hard working candidates who can put their effort day and night for their better qualification. Every year there is a huge number of aspirants who want to go for the defense services and it is not at all an easy task to compete against the other aspirants. All it requires is to regularly go for a practice test with the already available sample papers. A thorough revision can surely fetch a candidate enough good scores.

ASVAB TEST DESCRIPTION gives a further complete detail idea about the test pattern.

The marking is percentile based. However, this marking pattern is very economical in its form. An aspirant to get qualified should possess a minimum of 36. Over the years it has been observed that more than 70% of the aspirants easily achieve about 50 or more.

The score that is determined by the AFQT must be revised thoroughly which again later deals with certain rules. The categories are:

v  Category 1 ranges between 93 to 99

v  Category 2 ranges between 65 to 92

v  Category 3a ranges between 50 to 64

v  Category 3b ranges between 31 to 49

v  Category 4a ranges between 21 to 30

v  Category 4b ranges between 16 to 20

v  Category 4c ranges between 10 to 15

v  Category 5 ranges between 0 to 9

It is important to keep this thing in mind that all the above altogether cannot be fruitful. There is some or the other violation regarding certain categories. First of all, a candidate needs to go through the reviews completely so, how to pass the asvab.

The ARMED FORCES QUALIFICATION TEST score is again used to determine basic qualification for enlistment.

The calculation of this again requires a particular formula and that is:

The reasoning of Arithmetic’s (AR) + Knowledge of Mathematics (MK) + Twice of verbal expression (2*VE)

The score that is determined hence is not a raw score rather is percentile in nature. The percentile gained can, in turn, indicate how each examinee has performed when compared to the other candidates he had a competition with. The highest possible percentile that can be achieved by a candidate is 99.

However, there is never something to be worried if a candidate does not score heavy marks. There is always some or the other opportunity for a score that is enough to reach the qualification level. The percentile that needs to be attained must be first studied because it may be changing year to year.

As we all know there is no gain without any pain. All these complicated status might scare you with the exam. But we all also know that “…..Practice makes a man perfect”. Go on practicing for the exam, try harder instead of trying luck.
